I am in discussion with a new insurance company which insists that automatic fire extinguishers are fitted in the engine area. I have a twin engine Jeanneau Prestige 32. Has anyone fitted automatic fire extinguishers to a Prestige 32. If so what type, size and where are they positioned and fitted in the engine area. I am thinking of getting two brackets made to hold extinguishers above the fuel filter/fuel pump? The one for the starboard engine will be positioned in between both engines and the port one will be positioned on the outside of the engine near the battery compartment? Any suggestions will be greatly received and if photographs are available I will be most appreciative. Many Thanks
David

David, As this post is nearly 2 years old, I presume that you worked something out in the end. But just in case not, or if other are reading this post looking with the same question, this may be helpful... the boat manual usually gives you details of the recommended type of fire extinguishers required, and also the position where they should be fitted. FE are not mandatory safety equipment in all countries, so Jeanneau don't supply them as standard, but they do give the details in the owners manual. If you don't have the manual, a quick google should find it for you. If not, here is the one for the Prestige 36, which will give you some direction. anciensbateaux.jeanneau.fr/doc/proprietaire/manuelproprietaire_2_20100604_PR36_MA_GB_D.pdfRegards, Snowdn
