Thank you I have seen the photos which have helped where to place the unit. I wanted help on the best route to get the pipe work through the boat, The local dealer has done lots of Jeanneau's before but not a twin aft cabin 342 before. But after getting his quote (£1,500 inc VAT) I will do most of the job myself as I have found a new marine Eberspacher D2 for £750.

A D2 will not produce enough heat according to my dealer!

The dealer will say that the D4 cost's £300 more, My friend has a D1 on his sadler 34 and after half an hour his boat is like an oven we also had a D1 on our old Sigma 33 and this was the same. The D1 is 1800 watts and the D2 is 2200 watts, as we are not living on the boat in the middle of winter it's just to warm her up when required, it will be fine for what we want. For your info Colchester Fuel Injection quoted £1500 inc vat to supply and fit a D2 & £1,800 for a D4. I purchased a brand new D2 via ebay with the Marine fitting kit for £715 complete with every fitting required other than the mounting bracket which cost £19 again via ebay. the Eberspacher was 3 months old and I have the original purchase receipt to cover the 2 year Guarantee.
