Just moved from ribs to a Merry Fisher 595 this year.
Our first covered boat. Needs to be ok for us to trailer it. Had one short trip after buying it, really enjoyed it. Tinkering at the moment ready for the next trip as weather allows.
No dedicated 595/605 forum? Is it only the bigger boats on here? Or just not the numbers needed fro the smaller boats?
Anyway lots of useful info applies even from the bigger vessels.

Hello gazzago,
Congratualtions on the covered boat. It is really nice to be able to stay out on the boat rather than have to go back in after a day on the water. This forum does have a lot of bigger boat owners, some power boats but mostly sailing.
I hope you enjoy it.

Hi Gazzago,
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase. Many systems are common across different models and many of the issues addressed in the archives are quite generally applicable. Well worth browsing on out of season evenings.
My previous boat was a trailerable, and I totally enjoyed it. Many interesting places become accessible when you can travel up the highway at 90 mph, with a safe anchorage every night. The boat is just as good for sleeping in a caravan park along the way.
I towed my boat over 50,000 km in the time I owned it and cruised waters that I could never have sailed to in the time allowed by work vacation time. Everlasting memories for the whole family. And being on a trailer has great advantages when maintenance is required.
We look forward to hearing about your adventures.
