Our new-to-us 2001 43DS has original wiring. Everything seems to be working fine (charger, alternator, etc )except the meters on the electric panel are not displaying amperage readings, in or out. We'll update the system eventually but in the meantime does anyone know if the meters themselves are susceptible to failure? Thanks.

Unsure if like mine (SO 34.2), but I actually have to twist the rotary switch to the battery (or source) in question, and then PUSH for the reading. If I dont push, no reading.
Never figured out if that is meant to happen, or is broken on mine, but it works.

The analog meter on our electric panel never worked. Bought the boat new, put the meter on the punch list of repairs, and the dealer (and manufacturer) never fixed it. We had worse issues that drew our focus to the more vital items. The meter has never worked and we have been living aboard for almost a year and a half. The digital meter also is terrible. Inaccurate for water, fuel, AND electrical. We installed a Victron monitor for the battery systems - well worth the hassle and expense to actually have some idea of what is going on with your batteries.
