I'm Owner of a Sun Odyssey 410 delivered in 2020. Already after first month of use the anti-friction tape at one side of the entrance sliding hatch is damaged. From the moment that a part was worn, it propagates quickly further. For opening and closing the cover more power is needed. Even increasing as far the missing part becomes bigger. Meantime I tried to remove old glue with contained dust to reduce friction and sanding damage. The need for more handling power is very uncomfortable for lots of users. With my local Jeanneau dealer we have found the specific tape at Jeanneau. But we had to order an expensive full roll ADHESIVE TAPE ANTIFRICTION 15X when we only need approx. 1,2m. So far my dealer is not willing to order this full roll and sell me only required length for a reasonable price. Does some one have an alternative or knows a dealer that can purchase only required length. Eventually a good specification may be helpful, to check availability at a local tape manufacturer HPX in Belgium. Some advises, how to replace this tape, including removal of the hatch are very welcome. Thanks in advance Yves

I purchased a 10 foot roll of a similar tape from a woodworking shop locally. The cost was very reasonable. I don't know if it's the same as what you are looking for, but it would be better than not replacing the missing part.

Is it possible to change the "tape" by some kind of nylon "glider". This can be found on the diy store.

I also bought a roll of the tape from an online store. Easy to find and cheap. But my original tape lasted 7 years and the replacement still looks fine. I have to wonder if you have a rough spot on the underside of the sliding part. I’d you can remove it and polish the bottom it might help. Or maybe add a layer of the anti friction tape to the underside of the slider?

I have used UHMW tape, sometimes called drawer sliding tape. Search on amazon. Lots of different choices.

Same thing is happening on my 2022 410. The rubber waterproof seal also ripped out of the track which is impossible to replace without removing the entire top of the spray hood. I think the leading edge of the hatch has a sharp corner that slowly eats away at the tape. I’m going to try to give mine a rounded edge but that Catalina tape looks to be the same stuff so might as well order a roll!
