I’ve got oily substance that keeps showing up in the basin forward of the outboards below the steering rod. I think it’s coming from the hydraulics because it seems to reappear when been turning the outboards hard port or starboard.
Wondering if this description lines up with anyone’s knowledge of the fluids back by the outboards and if anyone has seen a similar problem.

What is the year of your boat and how many hours are on the engines?

garyguise 2017. I’m just shy of 120h on both engines. Last maintenance was at 100h

Pretty sure the 2017 was the last year of the previous 895 model. Did that also come with twin Yamaha 200s? Although you're likely past the 5yr engine warranty (that most dealers will give) I'd see if extending it is still possible.
Hoping this issue isn't serious but even if it isn't, that longer warranty might save you in the long run if you plan on keeping the boat for a while.

Yep. Twin Yamaha 200s. Thanks for the pointer on extending the warranty. I’ll look into it!

Had some time to take a much closer look at the steering system and I’m fairly confident that I’m bleeding steering fluid from the lines. I’m starting to get some slop in my steering which further confirms I’m getting air in the system.
