Hi All, Thanks for accepting me. For some years already, I'm the proud owner of a Jeanneau Arcadia 30 in Norway. Actually, as I'm registered on the owners' group, I thought I would have been part of the group automatically. Anyhow, I've been following it, in particular when I have a doubt. I've been doing all maintenance and repairs myself and it is great to be able to access to the pool of knowledge that is made available to us. This is what made me find that I was not registered here. Stay tuned for my question :-)

Hi Gato
You are very welcome. Marty one of our moderators also has an Arcadia in USA so sure you will swap notes.
Look forward to hearing about some of your upgrades.
Guess you are referring to our Facebook group? Being different systems you do have to register both there as well as separately here...

Hi Malcolm, I was referring to www.jeanneau-owners.com/. I also asked on Facebook, on the Jeanneau Owners group and DIY Sailors. Got a great number of replies, learned a lot and basically got confirmed it is a tapered pin. I was afraid to be something different, which I was not figuring out. The ruder removal is straightforward, the problem is just my lack of skills Probably I'll make a new ruder. If I end up doing myself, I'll be glad to document and post for the benefit of the group. I'm leaning to one made with horizontal parallel metal sheets, separated by some 10 cm, forming the section, layered by fiberglass. It is strong, and no mold is needed. But I can know only once the ruder is out.

Hi Gato and Camille,
Welcome to you both. You will find this a friendly place to hang out and discuss things with like minded others.
There is a wealth of good information in the archives, plenty of pleasant evening reading to learn more about your boat.
Dont restrict your browsing or searching to your particular model, so many of the systems and issues are common to all, so for a water pump issue for example, the same item is probably used on other models both large and small.
We all look forward to getting to know you both and hearing about your adventures with your new boats.
