Yes i did on my 795. It is powered by 5 Batteries when at sea. When at sea i have 5 good hours of full speed AC, batteries get charged at quay or while boat is on the way (high RPM only but very slow charge). Works as well on shore power, while batteries are being charged. If you need details let me know

Could you please share details - battery type, inverter and picture of your battery array? I am interested in doing something similar on my 895 Sport, maybe with solar as well. Thanks!

My boat used to be in Singapore, the guys who installed it are located there... probably too far from you ;-)
Here is the setup - 5 AGM Batteries, TROJAN OverDriveTM AGM 31 - MASTERVOLT combo charger/inverter - Battery isolator to allow engine alternator to charge - Battery monitoring
The AC was the one that came as an option when i purchase the boat. Dometic 8000BTU. Originally only worked on shore power.
Batteries are installed it in the compartment between table and captain seat. They used a bracket and managed to align all batteries there.
The Combo is just next to the AC, inside cabin under the passenger seat next to the sliding doors.
If you know how to post pictures here let me know i would gladly do it.
Regarding the usage, it works great while the boat is not moving. When making way it depends on the sea state, I think the reason is that sometimes when planning the water for the cooling is not sucked properly by the pump located on the hull, or the pump is not powerful enough. If you need to install this part as well i suggest that you study for a good location or a powerful pump...
We have a good 5 hours of autonomy at full power AC, and moderate power 8 hours. As mentioned the engine is able to charge the batteries while in high RPM, but not great results. One good thing the guys did is that the added batteries can take over the house battery if this last one dies...
Since the 795 is a small unit it was not possible to install a diesel generator. AGM are safe to use and no smell. I brought my boat from Singapore to Malaysia Langkawi and now it is in Phuket, i have to say that in this region it s a must!
Cost wise it wasn't cheap (everything cost a bomb here in singapore). If i had to install a diesel generator it would have been a bit cheaper but not feasible(!).
Hope this helps

Do you know how to post photos? Regarding solar panel, I did asked the guys who did the job if installing solar panel would help, their view was that since my boat is always on shore power when in marina, i do not need solar power as it would requires days to charge the 5 AGM batteries, useless when out for a week-end. I have not explored further as the cost of battery and combo etc was already making me bleed... I am re-thinking of installing solar panel now that my boat is on dry stack, not anymore on shore power in marina. If i can find people to do that in Phuket i will let you know their setup. Let me know if you have ideas for that, i m interested !

Thank you for the information! I will find out how to post pictures and will let you know. Is the area where the AC is installed is on the port side? I have a fridge their. The only place I think about is under the sink. I am currently installing the strainer and the water pump. Will post some picture. I branched out the seacock inlet for the marine toilet. Still not desided which brand AC to buy. Leaning to Webasto. Also think 6000 btu will be enough. My boat is smaller than yours. I have NC695.

It s on port side behind the fridge, the mastervolt combo was installed as well there.
There is a hatch under the seat that gives you access to this compartment, at least on the 795.

Hi all. I am installing an AC unit on my NC795. Can anyone share photos of their hookup, especially using batteries.
I want to have system set up to use Shore power or batteries, depending if I am running/anchored out or at a marina.
is there anyplace to install a small generator?
best. . .
