We bought a SO 39i performance 2 months ago and absolutely love her.
Last weekend the rudder bearing started squeaking when sailing under considerable heel. Later also when turning the wheel in harbour. After spraying some teflon lubricant on the bearing the sound disappeared.
Any suggestions what caused this sudden phenomenon and what you did to solve it? It was cold at that time, just above 0 Celsius.

We have had our 39i for a year now and still loving everything about it. (Except wishing I was able to find a Performance version!) I suspect your squeaky rudder bearing is nothing to worry about. The lube solved it, so I would call it fixed. Just monitor it for any signs of excessive play, but I would assume your surveyor would have checked that before you bought the boat.

Nice to know another 39i owner!
Thank for the reassuring words. The rudder has no wear. i also asked the surveyor of our boat and he stated the same. Nothing to worry about and lube when necessary. He mentioned green soap would do the trick as well.
The performance version sails indeed like a breeze. She does easily over 8 knots in only 14 knots of true wind and 6 knots in just 6-8 knots of wind. The consequence is that I have to reef earlier. Sailing upwind, at what true or apparent windspeed does the normal 39i reeds a first reef?

My boat needs a bit more breeze to get going, although I recently upgraded to a Flexofold prop so I expect performance to improve. So far I have only reefed my main once, and that was in around 25kts apparent, although I have since had my main recut and converted to full battens, so it is flatter and may allow me to carry it unreefed longer. I have seen pretty respectable boatspeed, and in wind over 12kts have routinely broken 8kts. I am confident there is more performance to be gained.
