My 32i is now 12 years old and the teak on the cockpit seating is looking past its best, the caulking standing proud in lots of places.
Am thinking of having it replaced, also the two teak strips on the cockpit roofline. I am no good at DIY so wouldn't even consider doing it myself.
Has anybody had this work done in UK? What did it cost?

I recently had someone (very) lightly sand the decks with the instruction to knock the top off the caulking and scuff the decks. He then repaired any caulking seams that had gone. The deck is now looking and feeling great, might be worth a look before replacing.

hi there
what about fitting fake teak?
has anyone done it?
the teak on my decks has been abused by thr previous owners and in a couple of places you can see the original deck, so I am looking for solutions also

Replacing teak is very expensive. I friend of mine just paid £5k for the cockpit floor/seats and a couple of other bits. I had quotes a few years back just to do our seats on our 32i which seemed crazy at the time (in the end I just had a couple of rotten slats replaced). Ours will need doing in the not too distant future.. I think fake is the way to go but I guess it will still be a fair chunk of cash!

If you some of the work yourself you can get away a bit cheaper. Some companies sell ready-made panels that you just attach with sikaflex. Then you "just" have to remove the old teak and attach the new panels.
