Having a motorhome sometimes results in goods crossovers for the boat. Have been looking for something for our cockpit table and as we have a large battery bank and big solar didnt really want something with its own batteries or integral solar, but to plug into the cockpit 12v socket Just saw at a MoHo exhibition this 12v lamp, so ordered one and got next day Cost £20 and draws 9w (0.75 amp) and has 45 white leds and a remote control dimmer, complete with 5m 12v and 240v chargers The shade collaspses as it is silicone, probably not that waterproof, but looks like it should survive OK beneath the bimini, even came with a lightweight carabiner Might be useful for others I got mine from: bigwhitebox.co.uk/product/kampa-groove-collapsible-pendant-light-blue/

Thanks Malcolm,
Overhead lighting can be a real issue in the cockpit under the bimini. A good solution.

Reading the instructions it does say only for interior use, there are numerous holes on the top of the lamp unit, guess to avoid heat build up so will need to be careful that rain cannot spoil the fun, but overall very pleased and I might even make a splash guard above the lamp just in case...
