Hi all,
Noticed today a clunk on the rudder when turning and investigations showed that when the mechanics did the rudder bearing and put the cables back on, the port side cable is not located onto the pulley wheel located under the base of the steering column in the rear space (behind the aft cabin wall sections) it is therefore binding on something and not running right. I will of course have a word tomorrow and get the mechanics along to rectify BUT then thought if I were on a passage and noticed same thing, how do I get slack in that cable? Can't find easy diagram and assume the cables terminate on the quadrant top of the shaft and tension somehow. How do I get tension off the cable so I can get it onto the pulley wheel? I assume I can do from the back hatch once I move the tender?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

The tensioning is on the quadrant. So if the back hatch gives you access to the quadrant, you're good.
Keep tension on the cable while putting it back on the pulley, in order to avoid too much slack where the cable can drop off some other point.
