Hello all I have recently traded in my MF 755 and purchased a brand new Merry Fisher 895 offshore with twin 200 Yamahas and a lot of extras at the Southampton Boat Show in the UK! She is arriving in a few weeks and I have been doing tons of reading and looking at 895s. I would love to hear what people have done to their 895's in terms of adding rod holders, live wells etc. and also any advice for a new 895 owner! Hopefully the photo below will work of her at the dealer! Many thanks! Jay Merry Fisher 895 - Sadie and Jay-1 by J D, on Flickr

Hi Jay, nice upgrade! I’m looking to do the same with my 795, and I do a lot of fishing so I’ll get the 895 setup as well. I have a custom rocket launcher on my 795 and will do the same for the 895. There is an owner in the Puget Sound who has turned his 895 into a charter and has a pretty sweet setup. He used products from Burnewiin; GM650 mount with Cannon downrigger adapter plates and Burnewiin cutting board. They are not cheap, but they are heavy duty and quality. I’ve also used SeaSucker suction cups with rod holders for my net, rods, and cutting table that I can move around anywhere on the boat without having to drill holes. You can also check out Moose Marine in Australia as they have done some pretty cool custom stuff and ship international. Another FB page is the Jeanneau Merry Fisher page out of Norway, and those guys are really into fishing and have done some pretty cool stuff, although mostly on 605, 695, and 795’s.
Hope this helps.
Cheers, Ron

Hi Ron.
Thanks for all of the information, I will have a look at those sites and look at options. I want something a bit more substantial on the 895. I currently have rod holders that connect onto the grab rails which is fine for smaller UK species but not so good for hooking into something a bit bigger! Suction cups sound like a great idea for holding equipment!
Do you have a date for your new boat yet? We are going to see ours tomorrow and hopefully have delivery in the next 3-4 weeks!! Its quite an upgrade!
Cheers, Jay
