Just going thru my 2015 439 right now. I noticed the air con sea water pump manifold and metal thruhull are not bonded to anything despite a large label on the manifold indicating that it needs to be attached to the bonding system.
The thruhull strainer (metal) has surface corrosion which I cleaned off. This should be attached to bonding plate also. Where is the common bonding panel on a 439? I'm expecting the DC ground and AC ground to be attached there.

I have been reading a lot lately about pros and cons of bonding metal through hulls etc. one thing that I have learned is that the bonding, if done, is not supposed to connect to the electrical ground. Only bond those metal parts together so they don’t try to equalize through the water. Instead the common bonding keeps them at the same potential. I’m no electrical expert but from my reading this seems consistent.

The air con thru-hull on my boat also corroded to the point that it failed in the closed position (handle disconnected from ball). On my boat there is a grounding plate on outside of hull, located under the battery compartment in the aft cabin (stbd). The only thing that appears to be connected to that plate is the factory installed inverter. Another plate was added when the commissioning agent installed a generator. It is located in the same area as the air con thru-hull. I have considered connecting The air con manifold to that plate but wasn’t sure if it would be beneficial as all the other thru-hulls would still be isolated. Would be interested in thoughts on the matter.

My boat didn't come with a genny or inverter so no bonding plates from factory/dealer.
