Hi. I was recently troubleshooting a starting issue on my Merry Fisher. During the diagnosis i came across the attached device which was by the battery switches. One side fd it was going to the battery positive and the other side was going to the battery switch positive. Does anybody have any ideas what it is? It fell apart in my hand due to corrosion. 12v device

Hi gazaaa, From your description of its location it might have been a high amperage fuse. It's puzzling that the wire attached to it in your picture is ground wire (yellow & green).

Thanks for the reply neworca1. I agree that its strange to have that color wire going to the positive terminal. I double checked it with a DMM and its definitely going to the positive post. It might be some kind of fuse as you mention.

Could it be a shunt for measuring current? If there is a small wire connection there somewhere it might be that. Could you measure the resistance or voltage drop with your DMM to see?
