Hi We are very much enjoying our new SO32i. Gradually becoming familiar and working through minor snags. One thing I'd appreciate some help with. Water gathers on the side decks aft outside the cockpit. It puddles here after rain or deck cleaning. There is no natural run off? There are very small indents in the GRP that are either blocked or not intended for drainage. Are these for deck drainage? If so they are tiny and not practically cleanable? The water sat on deck makes it difficult to deck wash and also adds to considerable condensation in the aft cabin. Thoughts?

Indeed this are very narrow drainages. I clean them with a compressor or with a knive blade, there are 2 on each side of the boat. The water doesn't run easily through the side decks to the back side. Alwys some water will remain. Best is to go for sailing after cleaning the deck.

On my SO35, I clean these drains using a plastic cable tie. Just poke it through and work it back and forth. Then hose the deck down and the deck will drain nicely.

I also use a plastic cable tie. If they are very blocked then you need to poke it up from the hull side as well as from the deck, running some water through whilst you do this usually unblocks it. It's a very poor piece of design.

Thankyou all. Managed to clear a path for a trickle of water with cable-tie.

Yes, I had this issue on my 32i too, gets clogged up very easily. Best cleaning method I have found is with my Karcher jet washer to clear the gunge out. The cable tie works as an interim though. Once cleaned out the side decks drain very well.
