Before I make another abortive trip up the mast... What is the shape/type of bulb used for standard Jeanneau masthead anchor lamps. We've been using ours a lot recently and I would like to replace it with a low current LED. Almost all the other lamps on board are converted, but not the anchor lamp. I suspect a double ended festoon bulb??? 38mm or 42mm? Which?
Thanks, Graeme

I remember that the dealer in Largs couldn't confirm the exact type of bulb. It's possible that Jeanneau didn't always fit the same type. I went up the mast and discovered that my unit was from Aquasignal and think it was type 25. I do remember that their spec. said only suitable for boats up to 12m and so my 2009 42DS should have had the next model in the range. I expect Jeanneau probably skimped in 42DS & 42I. I bought one from ultraleds.co.uk and the order says "1 x Aquasignal Festoon Dimpled Ends 12v 10W CW (UAQ12CW)". Unfortunately, I can't find it on their website now. It certainly is a festoon bulb with dimpled ends (think it is also called DIN Festoon). Force 4 show the non-LED type and mention pre-20 and this seems to mean pre-2010. www.force4.co.uk/aqua-signal-dimple-end-festoon-bulb-12v-10w-aquasignal-series-25-pre-20.htmlI do have a spare and will try to find it to measure and also find out where I bought it. UPDATE: I found the order to the spare "Aquasignal Festoon Dimpled Ends 12v 8W WW (UAQ12WW)". Only 8W vs. the original 10W. An internet search indicated it might be similar to one sold here bedazzledledlighting.co.uk/product/festoon-42mm-12-led-dimple/. This is equiv. to 15W vs. 8W or 10W, so a better output. I will try to find the spare and check measurements.

Rather than climb the mast, do you know anyone that has a drone?

I like the dusk to dawn automatic lamp idea. That would be the way forward I reckon ! Cheers, Graeme

Hey guys,
Any chance someone knows what mast head light a 2006 42DS has?
I think aquasignal sells snap in replacements for the whole set and this is what I would do.
I had this on my previous 36i (2009)
The masthead tri-colour light is an Aqua Signal series 40 "Quickfit" Tri-colour light - Aqua signal part number 40706 - 7 Two bulbs - tricolour is 25W and anchor is 10W.
Do you guys think the 2006 42 DS Has the same ?
Thanks
Tom
