Just waiting for my new liferaft to arrive, has anyone taken the deckhead panels down? I’m going to mount it forward of the spray hood.

We mounted our in the position you indicated. It's a Viking offshore 4 person raft. Forward bolts are straight through the cabin top and after have a nylon spacer betwen the cabin top false cover and the cabin top. Sealed all with silicon pads with washer and locknuts inside the celing liner. Very easy job except the spacers alignment.

Brilliant. I think a much better location with a HRU rather than in the locker.

Does anyone know if I’ll be able to drill right through the deck? It looks like this whole area is removable, the main track isn’t attached to it.

Be careful that you don’t impede your companion way hatch cover as it slides forward with the raft bolts. The hatch uses a lot of that space.

Is it just secured with the forward bolts?

We remove the false cover and bolted fore and aft (4 locations). Resealed all of the screws and the gaps on the false cover. Fabricated nylon spacers between the false cover and the cabin top to prevent sag. Also place silicon sheet cut-to-size pads between the raft cradle and the cabin top & false cover.

How did you get the false cover off? I’ve asked my jeanneau dealer but no response as yet.

Ours has several sc news, then cut the caulking in the joints. Not difficult but you have to take your time so you don't cut into the gelcoat. After removal, you have to remove all of the old caulk. I'm sorry I didn't take a ny pictures on this project that I can share

To access the screws did you have to go from underneath?
Did the main track get in the way at all?

Sorry for the late reply. Our screws are on the outside and yes, the traveler had to be removed as the panel goes underneath. No a hard task, jus remember to recall everything.
