Hello uli057,
Last year I thought the engine intake seacock looked a little nasty so while the yacht was out of the water I thought I would bite the bullet and replace it. I purchased the new sea cock and underwent the task of removing the old one. I did remove the old one and fitted the new shiny one. However, I must admit, when I checked the old seacock closely I was surprised just how good the condition was. The ball valve was in very good condition although the outside of the housing looked pretty bad.
Anyway, the job is done now so I feel a bit better.
Regards,
Trevor

I had issue with 2 of my ball valves when preparing the boat for this season - and decided to change them together with the truhulls- after removing I've inspected the condition in details and one of them ( the bigger one 1 1/2 ) was in so-so condition e.g. needed changing but the small one was perfectly good .... e.g. in brief there is no way to judge from outside the actual condition of the metal...

I replaced the lot during the past winter months, 8 in total. Fitted DZR replacements. Not such a hard job in the end, the only awkward ones were in the stern lazerette locker. Original fittings from 2012 build showed different levels of decay, quite a lot of pink dezincified in 3 of them. None had any indication of what they were made of, so could only assume brass. Really poor that bronze or DZR was not part of the original fit.

I changed all of mine last year on a 2005 SO40.3 They were in very good condition considering the age. I changed them since the boat was new to me and they were OEM.

hi Vasko, I had insert the new Trudesign at 1,1/2 Zoll and 3/4 Zoll. But not for all, there is not enough room for this big ball Fitting. And... i wonder at Jeannaeu... why are all holes more greater at the fitting self? There are around the fitting more at 5mm ... Bad or not? I dont no...
regards uli

I will suggest if you change them to rebuild the proper hole size - you can use the International Watertite epoxy filler
