Hey guys trying to save three months of downtime on the boat...I had a situation when I fired up the engine for the first time the raw water pump wasn’t working and for some reason or another( maybe the wine ) but I didn’t realize it wasn’t pumping water to the back of the boat .. Anyway long story shortThe exhaust gases without the water melted the water box . Thank God is not a stainless steel that everyone has problems ..black plastic fliberglsss 260$ plus shipping .. Question is the dealer said its 2 to 12 week back order .. Is there a another system that can be done with an alternate in stock system I can buy or anybody know where I can find the slender long water box that tucks underneath the engine without waiting 3 months ?! Engine is the 54 hp yanmar Steve Attacked are the pics .. sad* The good news is that the engine survived :-)

You know, there are lots of threads dealing with water muffler problems.
I begin to wonder if it would be a good idea to obtain and carry a spare.
