Hi everyone Have a SO469. Am moving my boat so it will live December through June at a marina on New Providence Island/Nassau (i.e., when it is not hurricane season) and other other months, it will be up on the hard strapped down with hurricane straps at a yard in the Abacos. I currently have insurance through Progressive, but apparently they will only cover up to 125NM from the US coast so I would be outside of that. We don't plan to go far from Nassau, the most north we would go is around Green Turtle Cay and the most south we would go is Stanley Cay. For those who also spend time in the Bahamas, who do you have your insurance through?
Many thanks, 'Dubs

We have used IMIS and YachtInsure (bill Hodgens) when we were in the USA and Carib - we use IMIS now. Your problem is the boat will be in the hurricane zone during hurricane season. I really don't care if it is tied down and put a cave - it is in the hurricane zone and the losses the insurance companies took from folks who had the "ideal" hurricane protection in the zone make them very hard to want to insure you. Good luck.
