Hi, I would like to order a 200W folding solar panel for my bimini. It has a length of 2.2m. Unfortunately the boat is in Greece and I am in Germany, so I am not really sure if it fits. It is a SO 43 DS. Is anybody on his boat and could tell me approximately the width of the bimini? Thank you and have a nice Eastern. Reiner

Gruss Reiner,
We can measure at the weekend but there is another DS opposite us with a different bimini so surely it is not standard? Ours runs to sides of cockpit seating, their's runs and is supported by stanchions on side of boat

Will also measure next week so you have a few to draw upon.

Thank you for your help, but the folding panel I planned to install seems to have not a good durability. The supplier told me a little rain would be okay. I believe not okay for a seagoing sailing yacht. So I will look for a new solution and because I am in Greece from Saturday on I can measure by myself.

We have our two solar panels mounted on a light weight SS arch to the rear of the bimini. It was not to expensive and has survived all the wind and the weather thrown at it so far, including the Medicane. Added benefit it gives more shade for the helm.

I have a 42DS with a flex solar panel. I'm headed down to her this morning and will measure (I suspect if it fits mine it'd likely fit yours)

Hi Alenka, my boat SAO is ashore in the Cleopatra marina and will be launched on Monday. Are you in the same marina? Perhaps we could join and share some experiences.
