Hello,
My Jeanneau dealer is thinking to replace the original Code 0 with a code D. Does anyone has the spec of the factory one. I have asked to the dealer but takes so many times ...... It seems that the factory is provided by Technique Voiles but I can not find the real "grammage". Any feed back from SO 440 owners is welcome :-)

I would be interested in what you find.
I ordered the same factory code 0 for our new 410

Hi Fabrice
We have a SO440 with std Elvstrom 125% genoa and in Elvstrom mast reefing main... with in mast reefing you loose 10 square meters so we also have been seriously looking at sails to replace that lost sail area and give back more light wind performance.
A code zero was our initial preferred option the standard factory code zero is a sail triradial cut mylar laminate sail 81.85 square meters / 881 square feet. We looked at One sail FFR and Elvstrom but having discussing our sailing options with Elvstrom direct we have finial decided to order a Elvstrom Blue Water Runner.
This BWR sail is worth looking into as it gives us downwind performance and gain more upwind performance effectively 3 extra gears within one sail.
We will post performance after testing mid July.

I have code 0 but suggest code 60. You can use it for much weider angels and stronger winds up to 18 knoten.

I met with my local Ullman sails loft designer and discussed what I wanted to do with my new code zero. They created a sail for my needs that works great. A bit flatter than their normal code zero so it pulls well a lot closer to the wind which is the performance hole I had. Instead of picking a stock sail it might be worth discussing this approach with your local sail loft.

Hi Jim, This looks great : Could you give some more details on the configuration and price ( MP if preffered) . in Code 0/D mode is it really efficient, the other side remains furled ? Not sure to really understand how this is done. Actually in my nav zone, we almost get the wind from 50-60° Fabrice

Hi Fabrice
The cost of the Elvstrom Blue Water Runner is approximately the same as a well specified Code Zero... look up BWR on Youtube Several reports are available giving rigging detail and performance etc.
If we were predominantly sailing up wind 50-60 degrees I would be seriously looking at a Flat Furling Rreacher look at One Sails FFR we know local SO389 sailors who just love its performance.
Hope this helps .....keep in touch

We are thinking about a Code 0 or equivalent for our 44DS. One question, what is the size of it when bagged up for storage and how much does it weigh? Thank you!

I have a code zero on a So469. A lot of the bulk and weight seems to be the furler system and stiff furler wire. It ends up a bit bigger that a spinnaker and the weight is manageable by one person, but barely.
