Keith and I want to do a quick but respectful renaming ceremony for our boat. Her transom name is currently "Jenny" but she is "Siroco" to us and will become so officially within the week. Is there any special ceremony specific to the traditions of the Jeanneau community you'd like to share with us?

Well there's the typical renaming ceremony you can search for which involves some fun, lots of alcohol, and provisions for King Neptune! We just slapped a name on the transom (there were no names on her originally) and went with it!
By the way - nice to see another Fantasia owner!!! Getting rarer and rarer!

We splashed plenty of champagne over the name when we renamed our 29.2 from "Knot Bad" (who could do that to a boat) to Sitara. The boat gods were happy because she served us very well and continues with another family in the marina.

Thank you Sol Duc ("Magic Waters") and Sitara ("Morning Star") for your feedback. Good advice that will be acted upon. BTW: What lovely names you have chosen for your Jeanneaus!

I was always led to believe by an old friend that renaming a yacht involved hiring a troupe of folies bergères topless dancers preforming the can can across the foredeck while a naked pole dancer slid down the mast, this spectacular carried out while drinking copious bottles of champagne and singing unsavoury rugby songs.
Unfortunately I have never had the opportunity to renamed any of my boats, mainly due to my wife’s lack of agreement!

The only ceremony we went through was me asking my wife what we were going to name the boat. No ceremony really just my wife telling what to do. We now have Affinity to represent our over 40 years together. Better for us than Adagio. Ian
