I am generally frustrated with the parts availability for our Jeanneau sailboats in the US. EVERYTHING has to come from Europe! Simple things such as cutlass bearings, drip-less shaft seals, hatch gaskets, stuff that is routine maintenance, is just not available this side of the pond. I needed a pressure relief valve for our water heater, had to come from England, showed up quickly, with a shipping cost of 50.00, more than the price of the part.
Ordered a shaft seal from dealer, it took 8 months to get here! Glad I just had a small drip.
Too add insult, I took a look at the Beneteau USA website(roughly the same company): I think you could build a new one from their inventory. Jeaneau's website: I can get a hat real quick, not much else
A call to Jeanneau America got the repose-"order it from Europe". Presently looking for a simple cutlass bearing for our boat and a friends 36i. Even hard to find in Europe.
All in all, Love the boat, very disappointed in the support.
Anyone know of a US Jeanneau dealer who maintains at least a basic inventory of parts?
I am sure that I will receive responses that their experiences were different, this is merely my take on the situation 2003 Sun Odyssey 35

Larsen Marine in Waukegan, IL, is mostly "hit or miss" - over 12 years, they've surprised and disappointed me equally. I have no experience with other dealers. Success with sourcing parts for my boats involved identifying the OEM and finding distributors that carry that manufacturer's parts in the USA, not bothering with Jeanneau unless there's no alternative. Some distributors won't sell directly, only through dealers like Larsen's, but will gladly help you identify the part number for the dealer to order. And consolidations, failures, and reorganization of OEMs, especially European ones, can make finding some parts for older boats difficult. I've been able to source engine, mast/boom, electrical, running rigging, and plumbing parts domestically. Lifeline stanchions required Jeanneau assistance.

You should try to find things from an 85!
Lifeline stanchions are not that hard to find. In most cases it is a metric fitting. find a place with access to metric fittings. They may not stock the item, but can get them! OR, as I did last summer, got rid of the metric, and went with an SAE equal.
Rig stuff, was easy overall, some came from typical suppliers, others had to come thru USSpar in Florida, north america zspar distributor, had any part I needed next day air if need be!
Some of the made for Jeanneau, not made any more, like some have glass or equal splash backing plates in sink area. Finding the measurements, and have a local place make one.
Cutlass bearings etc, again, it is figuring out the metric equal, then usually order in. someone here in NA usually has stuff like this in stock. Hard part, is figuring out who! Once that is done, parts are generally speaking, readily available. If not, change out to something that is where appropriate.

Watch out when ordering Cutless bearings (not cutlass btw but I imagine Google will be OK with either spelling). At least some are an odd mixture of imperial and metric. I know the 42DS has an oddball Cutless bearing and seem to remember others with smaller models mentioning the same thing. 42DS uses a 30mm x 44.45mm x 127mm bearing. This is actually 30mm x 1 3/4" x 5" (i.e. A metric shaft but an imperial shell). Bearings for metric shaft and metric length but imperial outer are reasonably easy to find in UK. I use a 30mm x 1 3/4" x 120mm bearing and that's OK as it is only 3.5mm short either end. Following link gives a list of all cutless bearing sizes available from Sillette. Lake sterngear also supply cutless bearings. Delivery costs are relatively high, even in UK. No idea what they'd charge to send to USA.

Now I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer but why order from Jeanneau. Not that I have not done that but we replaced a cutlass in the USA and got an off the shelf - we replaced our dripless in Colombia and got it from Volvo(?) or who ever mgfs them - We replaced our pressure relief valve in Puerto Rico with an off the shelf -- I guess I am just confused - if we can get Jeanneau good if not we work it out
