On the porrt side pushpit of my 39i there is a flange welded to the bottom rail and 2 pins welded to the top rail. I am wondering if anyone knows what these were intended for. The previous owner had the bbq mounted there but I want the bbq closer to the propane tanks, and plan to move the outboard to that side.

Hello zaphod,
Those two pieces on the top rail are the remnants of a "U" shaped bracket used to hold the life ring to the pushpit rail. The bracket has been cut off presumably to make way for the BBQ.
Regards,
Trevor

That could be, except that the ends dont look cut. I guess if it was professionally done then polished up...

Trevor is spot on, our 39i has the whole upper bracket for a lifering. The lower one I think is supposed to be for an MOB light, but I have never found one that fitted...

Interesting, maybe they cut the bracket off at the factory for boats destined for Canada since we dont use horseshoe rings here, and the bracket isnt suitable for the round rings?
Anyway, now that that mystery is solved, that's where the outboard mount is going!

The ones at the top defiantly look like a wire frame to support a horse shoe buoy that has been cut off. The bottom one looks like a support for a white navigation light. Has the original been moved? Is there a whole in the tubing to take a wire? failing that I can only assume this is an after purchase addition welded on to support the BBQ.

Exactly like the stub of the bracket on our 42DS with light holder underneath. I can't see why a ring would not fit instead of a horseshoe. I assume it must have been it the way of something else, MOB recovery perhaps?
