Can anyone advise on the model number of the Quick hot water tank on a 36i.
I'm thinking of downgrading the element size to enable water heating with 1kW genset. Anyone done this or forsee problems, other than longer heating time on shore power?

Hello Quiddle,
Sounds like a good idea to me. We run the engine if we need hot water but that is another way to achieve it with a smaller gen set.

Hi Quiddle,
I don't know if you found the Quick "boiler" specs, but it's supposed to be the 40 L version, so model might be B3 - 40.
Meanwhile, I am curious. You have a 1 kw genset which is water-cooled? If so, why convert fuel into motion to drive an alternator, to drive an inverter, to drive the electric element water heater? There's a lot of waste in that, and electric heating elements are a rather inefficient way to heat water. It seems to me a better option would be to route the genset cooling water through the water heater instead of using engine heat. If that is possible.... 1 kw is a very small genset - is it air-cooled? Where is it installed?
We have a 110w solar panel, but usually need to run the engine to top off batteries.
