With all the kit upgrades and wiring tracing that i'm doing the cabling behind the main switch panel is starting to annoy me. Has anyone else taken this area apart to give better access to the cabling as it comes out of the routing duct behind the galley?
Short of dismantling the starboard side I can't see any way of getting better access to this area.

Hi Findhorn I've done a fair amount of electrical work on my SO469 but haven't messed with any routing behind the galley. I can't remember if there was a clear way to remove the back panels on the storage cabinets above the fridge/stove. I have opened up the main switch panel to see what's behind it because I am trying to figure out a way to install some current shunts on some of the main electrical loads like the fridge, nav instruments, nav lights, etc. but the only way I could figure out how to do it was reappropriate the fuse receptacles, so haven't done that yet. I do have a Simarine Pico 300 Amp shunt installed on the main battery ground and it works like a dream, letting me know very precisely the battery state of charge and by doing some math how much energy the solar panels are generating.
However, can I ask what upgrades you are doing? Very curious. Also, I have the very detailed electrical wiring diagrams for our boat, not the high-level one in the owner's manual but the more detailed one that shows every relay and connection, let me know if you don't have that and I will email to you.

So far my main aim is to get as much as possible on the NEMA 2000 network;
- Installed oil pressure and coolant temp sensors on the engine, awaiting the harness from the US to hook it all up
- Changed the 3x tank sensors (nothing on holding tanks yet) to Maretron TLM-100 with focus tubes
- Digital Yacht 4G Connect router
- Digital Yacht WL510 Wifi Booster (for all the digital yacht items I took the positive off the back of the Cabin lights breaker then to a fuse block, from there i plugged each unit in to its own fuse, the negatives i ran to a small bar that is there for other kit.)
- Digital Yacht iKommunicate, should allow remote access to check all the NMEA kit (assuming it's been left on), changes NMEA to "Signal K" format which allows for easier app writing etc....just waiting for it to be embraced more mainstream. Good app so far is WilhelmSK.
- Victron 712 battery monitor, just waiting on delivery, also with NMEA connection
- Signalpush bluetooth sensors + gateway - tracks the temperature and then relays it to the gateway/phone. Will allow me to monitor the temps in the freezer, fridge and cabin remotely and fine tune the actual temp in the fridge/freezer.
I'm also looking at either an Amazon Echo Dot or Echo Show to monitor some of the kit through IFTT, also to control the LED's that i've got installed and for Spotify music.
As you can tell i'm a massive data geek.....i think it comes from working on a super yacht.....i'm used to having access to all the information and all the gadgets.
I'll be on the boat in an hour or so, will take some photos of the kit in place and how i've wired so far.

Oh and a couple of 150W solar panels with a MPPT, not sure where they'll go but for now i'm going to leave them loose so i can position them in the best light at anchor.
I'll probably ultimately stick them on the coach roof or perhaps go the whole hog and put them on a frame aft.

Here’s the readout that I get from the SensorPush kit via my onboard internet. So I can see that the fridge, freezer are still at a good temp and I can see the temp on the boat in general.

The wiring on my 469 behind the galley cabinets is secured well with wire ties every 10 in or so. I was able to run some new wiring I needed through behind the cabinets using a “endoscope WiFi camera” taped to an electricians fish wire.

I've been managing to run new/replacement cables ok but I really want to get in there and untangle everything and set it up a lot neater.

I am in the middle of doing the same on my 439. Switchboard is just forward of the saloon heads in my case, all on the port side. Same tight wiring as you describe, but finding ways to locally re-route cabling to be simpler and easier to trace.
I have removed the timber flap in front of the main switchboard to have easier continuous access. I am installing an additional small switchboard below the original, with 2 more 50 amp breakers. Will try to take some photos.

In my 2015 SO 469 there is an empty 2” flex hose running from behind the switch panel back to behind the hanging locker in the aft stbd cabin. I used it to run a RAM mike cable to the cockpit.

Best Dubs Hi Dubs, I'd love to have a copy of the more detailed wiring diagrams for the SO469. Hi findhorn, Looks like you're doing some fine upgrades! Where did you find a nice fat negative wire at the main switch panel for the ground bus bar in your photo? Thanks, Jim

Thanks rdubs, findhorn and MalcolmP. Yes, it's the same diagram. TINY font labeling isn't it?!

That looks like a dream! mine has the B&G AIS and splitter along with a switch over unit for the shore power/generator so it's all a bit cluttered now.
