Hi All,
Looking at adding either 12volt sockets into each cabin or else fans, the idea is if I go with 12v sockets will just get fans with cigarette lighter attachment on them,
there is no wiring loom in place on my boat from factory,
Would I need to run another one, or could I just wire them into the lighting circuit in each cabin?
Thanks

I wired 12V sockets to the lighting wires in the saloon and all cabins in my SO 40 2003. Johan

Thanks How old is the boat? It must have a wiring loom or do you mean that you don't have a wiring diagram. Jeanneau often seem to provide a low of extra wiring for optional equipment. I added two 12DC charge points and a few AC points with little or no extra wiring. I found places to connect to existing wiring, using existing trips and fuses. I know that there was wiring for fans in at least 3 places. Adding 12V charging to a lighting circuit might be a problem as you are using existing wiring and fusing. Should be OK if you have fitted LEDs and only use an extra socket for phone charging as existing fuses should cope. Small fans could be OK, best to check current required and existing fuses you will be using. It would be a good idea to get a circuit diagram and find out if there is any existing wiring for optional fans or DC outlets.

Thanks for reply,
its a 2004 SO 35, I have the wiring diagrams, unfortunately no wiring in place for fans or DC sockets,
I have switched the lights to LED, so hopefully i can just piggyback on the lighting wiring for 12v sockets for charging phones and maybe running small fans,
Thanks for replies

I also have a 2004 SO 35 and can confirm that there is no wiring in place for fans and the like. I added new circuits for charging plugs and fans. It required adding new circuit breakers on the DC electrical panel, which cost more than $100 US. Not sure if it was necessary, though.

Perhaps Jeanneau only run extra wiring on newer boats or larger models. I must admit to being a little surprised how much I could fit without any additional breakers and minimal wiring. I think the diagrams showed precabling for 5 fans (2 aft cabin, 2 saloon, 1 fwd cabin), some lights and a several other items. No shortage of spare connectors for additional AC sockets either. No problem overloading wiring or breakers as everything seemed designed to take the extra kit. I just assumed it was normal as cost was minimal and it simplified fitting of optional extras. Obviously not the case for all their boats.
