I recently installed the Maretron TLM-100 tank sensors with focus tubes in my diesel and fresh water tanks. This allows me to see the data over the NMEA network and they can be calibrated to give much more accurate readings, the Jeanneau ones were way out. If there are any other SO469 owners that are looking to upgrade as well these tables should save you the calibration. Spent ages filling the fwd tank (400 litres) and the aft tank (235 litres) using a 20 litre Jerry can. Luckily the fuel tank is a mirror of the aft water tank so I used the same figures.

Did you use the optional "focus tube"?

I did, but I ordered the wrong ones so ended up having to modify them. The sensors have a dead area 2” below the sensor so on our tanks it basically won’t read the 2” below the tank top level. All that means is between 80% and 100% the sounding value is the same. So my tanks will wander around between 80-100% until they get below 80% then they are accurate.
The tubes that I wrongly ordered have DBE(?) in the name I think. Means dead band eliminator so they have a 2” extension on them that brings the sensor 2” above the tank level. Fine if you have the space above the tank to do this but on the 469, and I’m sure most other sail boats, there just isn’t the space for that.
