I just ordered and received this system for our SO 42DS. The original Harken car literally blew up under 14 knots of load, so this is an opportunity to change out the cars in order to to ease the task of Genoa trim off the wind, or changing point of sail, instead of going forward to manually move the car. This appears to be very robust gear. I saw this set up on Tafika II last year. Does Brent or anyone else have a set of instructions and recommendations I can use to install this system?

Here's what I received from the factory. Also take pictures of the exiting setup in case you need to backtrack.

Brent, thanks this helps. They did not send this on to me. I could not figure out the loops on car and the cam plate. The bungee cord makes sense as that will maintain some tension between the car and the plate. I am assuming that the mounting bolts on the control block plate and the cam plate are the correct dimension for the stopper holes in the track.

I replaced my original system with the Garhauer and have been more than pleased with the performance. It's smooth operationally and robust. You'll be happy with the system. I'm a big proponent of Garhaurer. I have a new main traveler coming to replace the totally useless Goit travel that came with the boat. I'm looking forward to it.

Thanks. Now I am dealing with frozen bolts on the end stops. Once those are removed I will be able to install the system. Machine head 5 mm bolts don't make removal any easier.
