I bought a SO36i 2011 last summer. Tank 2, the forward tank displayed OK on the Scheiber panel but Tank 1 did not. From helpful posts on this forum I discovered that the sensor box is only powered when the tank is viewed.
I swapped the sensor boxes which proved that both sensor boxes are OK. The voltages at the sense wire for tank 1 was good when viewing the tank. The problem is that the panel input circuit for tank 1 does not work. I moved the wire to the tank 3 input.
In order for the panel to recognize a tank the panel must be power cycled. Now I see my tanks as tank 2 forward and tank 3 aft. Tank 1 still shows on the panel. I guess that their software cannot skip a tank and looks for the last tank (pin) that has power.
Important: The panel only auto configures after a power cycle.
I guess I can now also add the starting battery and the current to the display.
The panel has a connector to connect it to a computer. Does anyone know what this is for and how to connect?
