I need to access the wiring on this galley spotlight. My boat is a SO32.2 and the plastic is brittle and I don't want to try and force it. No doubht theior is a simple method to access the internals- could someone enlighten me? www.23hq.com/Possumtops/photo/49576140/original

Ok. The lower bit is held on by friction.
On mine anyway - gently pull whilst wobbling. Then increase force. Mine just popped off, and I have 4 and they all came off happily. And went back on again. Don't pull too far away as the wire between base and bulb is short IIRC.
When off, (the switch remains behind) you will see a screw or two which holds the power and switch plate in place. Undo and the entire thing comes off.
Naturally these things can be different, but they look like my 2001 34.2 ones.

Thanks Mike, I guessed it was simple but didn't want to force anything. I Won't be down to the boat until the New year but will let you know how I get on. Regards
