I am trying to replace a “triducer” in my 2014 SO469. The depth function is dying. Intermittent operation and now only works when less than 15 ft or so. I have a replacement. The problem is removing the old one with cable and placing the new cable. From under the forward cabin the cable passes tightly under some wood panel then under the flooring then up inside the compression post cover. This is spot one where I can’t move the cable. Then it passes inside the salon seat/cabinet to a junction box that seems to be unreachable due to air conditioner unit. If I could remove the wood panel the the salon seat is hinged to it would help. But despite removing screws I can’t seem to remove the hinged seat and support the it. Perhaps this is just a matter of what gets installed when? And nobody pays attention to future maintenance needs? Or does someone here know how to pull out the panels to access the junction box? Right now it seems that only removing the entire wall between salon and forward cabin would do it. Thanks

Did you manage to get the cover off the compression post?
I’m onboard mine at the moment so I’ll see if I can work it out tomorrow.

I removed the cover from compression post without a problem. But the cable is pinched between the wood wall panels and the post. And even though I can see the junction box behind the air con unit I can reach a hand in there. I will need to figure out how to remove the wooden frame that the salon seat is hinged to. Thanks

How did you get the post cover off? I see the small handle/ring at the bottom but scared to pull too hard.

To remove the post cover I first removed a piece of headliner. Then pulled firmly on the ring. Mine also has a light switch in the post cover that needed to be removed.

I finally got this done today. It turns out that removing the compression post cover was the most important part of the job. Then reaching in through the hatch in the forward shower helped. Hopefully will work.
