Does the Yanmar 4JH3E on 43DS have an anode in the cooling circuit?
If so, where is it?

I know the 3YM engines do not have an anode in the heat exchanger. The engine itself is freshwater cooled so does not have an anode. Yanmar agent told me that there were no dissimilar metals in the heat exchanger so it was not needed.

Yeah, but.... The strainer on the hull, the through-hull, the ball valve, the heat exchanger, the exhaust riser - all the very same alloy through which conductive seawater flows? I wonder if this is why boats with stainless exhaust risers seem to have corrosion problems. If we were in seawater, I would look for a place to insert an anode though the 3YM30 does not seem to have one (I've been through the service manual).
