We have a Jeanneau Sunfast 37 and would like to replace our prop. At present we have a Gori 2 blade geared propeller and would like to replace it. We are thinking of going to a Kiwi 3 blade Feathering Propeller. Can anyone advise on the Kiwi Prop. IsobelG

I have a Kiwi 3-blade on my SO35, which is just about the same size as your SO37. It works very well, and I recommend it highly.

Hi Don, I have a kiwi 3 blades on my SO 40 DS with a volvo 55 HP. Very happy with it. Already 3 full years in sea water with no service and have no problems.Kiwi guys know how to treat you well. Get the Kiwi prop and your bank account will not suffer that much comparing all the other brands. For me ,having no problems of galvanic damages due to the Kiwi prop materials is very important. Alex

We have a Kiwi on our 34.2 and it has been excellent. I love the simplicity of the unit, and it works as advertised. Lennie Isabeau, Tacoma, USA

We have the Kiwi prop now for 4 years on our SO37 and it has been the best investment we did. The SF and SO share the same hull shape so it should perform equal on your boat. The best choice. No gear that can ware out and almost maintenance free. Just press out the pin and shift off the blade. Clean it, reinstall and lubricate. That’s it.
Good performance ahead and astern.

Fitted a Kiwi on our SO34.2 and was very pleased with it. Have a MaxProp on our SO40 and am more pleased with it - better bite in reverse, though at the expense of more initial prop walk. But you can't beat the value and simplicity of the Kiwi. It will be a big step up from any fixed prop. I would have put one on the SO40 if it hadn't come with the MaxProp.

We fitted a Kiwiprop to replace the 2 bladed fixed prop on our previous boat - a Sunrise 35. While there were concerns that the strong reverse pitch might be difficult for our 3GM30, it worked well. No more prop walk than before. Almost 0.75 Kt more under sail alone, so well worth the effort.
Our current Jeanneau has a Flexofold, which works OK , but is less responsive going astern than our last boat's Kiwiprop. Alternatives to Kiwiprop are often eye-wateringly costly for retro-fitting.

Whilst on the kiwi prop topic can they be more effectively anti fouled than bronze props or even copper coated as that would be a added bonus.

I don’t understand what you mean with more effective. I just paint mine with anti-fouling and that’s it.

I don’t understand what you mean with more effective. I just paint mine with anti-fouling and that’s it. I just meant could the anti-foul bond better to a kiwi prop than to a standard bronze propellor. It sounds as though it does in your case which would be a major plus for me as the performance of my prop degrades over the season as the growth slowly builds up. Ian
