hi all, I've just fitted a new mecerator as the old one was leaking. I've fitted it but it won't work (no power) also the electric flush toilet switches don't work either. All were ok before the new macerator was fitted. Any ideas? Boat is a prestige 42s. thank you.

Maybe an isolator switch has been switched off prior to removing the macerator pump? That would be a safe way to prepare for the removal of the macerator.
Regards,
Trevor

It's a bit unclear what you mean when you say the switches "don't work". Regardless of what you mean, the way to figure this out is the same. Bust out a multimeter and measure if power is getting to the wiring on the macerator. If it is then either the macerator is busted or the connection to the macerator is bad. Otherwise trace the circuit back until you find power. As Trevor says it's probably a switch that's open. But if it's not then it's a bad connection somewhere.

Update on this - my engineer traced the fault back to a PCB which was not protected by fuses so the PCB was wrecked (sounds unusual to me but I'm new to the brand). This happened when he replaced the macerator pump after which the pump would not work and the two electric flush switches also failed to work. I think he may have tried to run the new pump with the sea cock closed but I wasn't there so hard to prove.
I'd welcome comments regarding the lack of fuses to protect the electronics.

I am using Flojet pump and it works very well since I bought it. I bought a 3/4 hose and pump poo uphill about 100' without any issue. This has made my life so much simpler. I just pump into a portable tank and drive my pickup to the dump. If you need to pump poo over a long distance this product is for you, don't hesitate on making the purchase!

Would you detail the Flojet model and how you set this up? Are you pumping from the deck fitting or direct from the tank below?

Would you detail the Flojet model and how you set this up? Are you pumping from the deck fitting or direct from the tank below? Robert1 was relating his experience with his recreational vehicle. I doubt that his configuration would apply to your boat.
