New plan for the new (to me) 469, the marina that she is currently in isn't requiring me to take on the contract of the previous owner so i'm free to go!
The super yacht I work on is based in Montenegro over the winter so it would be handy to have the yacht based there so I can keep an eye on her during the winter when i'm working....also good for sneaky days out sailing!!
Has anyone sailed across the Mediterranean end of October/start of November? Looking at the passage it would take about 2 weeks if we take it easy and do 24-36 hour maximum legs with about a 24 hour stop in each place.

I have found the weather to be very hit and miss from October onwards. Some years October can be glorious and others anything but!!! I think in your shoes I would be thinking about leaving sooner rather than later even if it meant taking on other professional delivery crew to help you do the passage with minimal stops.

Unfortunately I need to come back to work in mid October for a week, i may look at getting acquainted with the yacht over a few days in Denia and then setting off for the Balearics etc and see how far I can get before disappearing for a week. Either way, it's sure to be fun

I guess it depends on which fall weather we get. We have been in the Med for 5 years, not as long as many on this board, but we have seen good years and bad years. The weather like all things is changing a bit, as it has been doing for the past million or so years. If you plan it right, ie stops and layovers ect you should be able to do it if you have patience and go like heck when the weather permits and exceed your daily goals and push hard. By the way once on the east side of Italy do not overlook going into Albania and hop up the coast. Gives you a few more options and not sure what you big boat job is but taking a look at Albania as a new place for your boat clients of stop and see and a new unique destination.
good luck
