We have a very similar 410.
We also ordered the bow thruster, main electric winches, and Grey Cedar
We went with custom canvas after seeing the factory one
We have a much larger Bimini and smaller bridge piece
We opted out of teak table but went with teak cockpit floors

We have asked the dealer to do the freshwater conversion.
We also asked for an outboard motor hoist it may be a squeeze to attach to the stern.
Do you have any reservations with the furling main and self tacking jib having sailed the boat for a season?

Our 410 just arrived from the factory....we are hoping to get out on it in a few weeks.... Our has just arrived today. How are you dealing with the setup? Have you asked to install any extra? I asked for fan and underwater light, and will put some support for dinghy motor. PA

My dealer is converting the head to fresh water, installing an engine hoist and an outboard motor bracket. I am going to the boatyard when the barrier coat is completed.

Which engine hoist are you installing? I was considering a Swing Lift, but am afraid that the Bimini would collide with the halyard (link: www.swing-lift.com/)Good luck for your comissioning, be sure to post some photos when it’s in the water. I have a dingy from my presvious boat it is a inflatable Sport Boats Dolphin 8.8' - Model SB-270A - Looks nice, and doesn’t take too much space when unused. What do you thing of hoisting the dinghy with motor with the jib halyard and store it at the front? That is also one of the options I’m looking at, and in that way wouldn’t need a hoist.

I have a dingy from my presvious boat it is a inflatable Sport Boats Dolphin 8.8' - Model SB-270A - We were seeing options to put a motor hoist, and we’re struggling to find a solution that does not occupy the seating area, that is very small and easily is blocked by the fixed tube of the hoist. Do you have that part figured out? Thanks! Pedro

I have a different Jeanneau, but I use the davit block and tackle as an engine hoist. I guess it also depends on where you want to store the motor but this works well for me.

A boat with a deep keel will be able to point higher than a boat with a shoal keel. A boat with a shoal keel will be able to go places that a boat with a deep keel can't go.
Of course, you (and everyone else) would like some numbers to go with a statement like that. Unfortunately, it's a difficult question to answer. The best answer would be to present accurate polar diagrams for two boats that differed only in the keel configuration. I suspect you'll never see that, since it's quite difficult to build a really accurate polar diagram.
Another good answer would be to get the handicap ratings for the two boats, though such ratings aren't always accurate, and can vary from place to place. You would really have to find a race fleet with both boats, and find that the skippers of both boats have similar sailing skills and are happy with their ratings. Again, this is not common.
That said, I can honestly say that I would prefer my boat had a deep keel. I don't race any longer, but I still like to get the boat going as fast as conditions permit. But my area has a lot of cruising ground with shallow water (the St. Lawrence River) and a shoal keel makes it more accessible.

Thanks Don...I assume your boat has a short keel?...if so are you happy with the sailing performance? I have sailed the 349 with long and short keel....the short keel sailed surprisingly well. I have seen polar diagrams for both short and long keel 410.....as you say about 5 degrees less pointing and a bit slower for the shoal keel.....thanks for your reply....

Yes, I have a short keel on my SO35. The boat doesn't point as high as I would like, and it quite tender, requiring much more care with mainsail trimming than my past boats to avoid rounding up.

We have the deep keel on our 410 Performance and it goes well. May be significant that I don't think Jeanneau offer the "Performance" version with the shoal keel? I have heard that the lifting keel version goes even better than the deep draft keel. Perhaps worth checking out with your dealer if you are concerned about depth?

A lift keel please

Thanks for that....lift keel great concept, but more stuff to go wrong.....also quite expensive....
RE short keel on performance version....there is a picture of a 410 reaching with black sails on the Jeanneau advertising.....looks like an adjustable backstay, and the boat has a short keel.....? I think you can order performance version with any keel option....
Cheers
