Help, I need to identify the make and model of the battery charger that Jeanneau would have fitted to my 2013 Merry Fisher 855.
A previous owner fitted an invertor which is now failing to operate correctly. I do not need an invertor, when I need mains power I am in the marina and hooked up with the invertor performing its subsidary function as a battery charger. Unfortunately some part of the invertor is failing at random intervals. When it fails I have no mains supply or battery charging. The control of the invertor has 3 positions, Battery charging, Off and Invertor. In the Battery charging position the shore power should be fed into the mains circuit so I can boil a kettle and/or run a heater and the batteries are being charged. Off should simply turn the battery charger off, shore power should still be available. The Invertor position produces mains voltage from the batteries, enough power to light an low watt energy saving light bulb but not enough to boil the kettle.
As I do not need an invertor my plan is to replace it with the standard Jeanneau battery charger. Taking the invertor out to have it tested and possibly repaired does not appeal to me.
