Can anyone point me in the right direction for finding the "factory" recommendation for size and layout for the installation of A/C and generator on a 2007 42DS. I don't want to leave it up to the installer because he will pick whatever is easier for him and not where it is best for delivering the air to the right location. I got a copy of the owner's manual but has no location and duct paths in it. I mainly want to cover the main cabin and saloon. Thanks.

In a 43DS - Not dissimilar in size and layout - There is a tendency to fit 2 x 10,000 BTU units. One in the salon under the settee and another in the aft cabin in one of the storage bins.
We have just one (10k) unit in the salon and leave the cabin doors open into the aft cabin to cool it down.
Unless we are in 40 deg plus temps the arrangement works quite well.

We have one 10K AC/Heat in the main salon under the forward settee seat. The intake vent faces the center of the boat below the seat. The out vent is located starboard side in the shelf area with an additional vent in the forward cabin starboard side. We also have a 5K in the aft cabin starboard side unit behind the aft bulkhead with the vent on the port side out of the after bulkhead. Both units operate independently with separate thermostats in each cabin (not forward cabin). Both are MarineAir. Both can be run off our 3.5KV Genset. I can send you picture if you want

I have a 2011 42DS. 2 machine are installed, one(if I remember correctly) 30.000 BTU for saloon and front cabin, the second for the rear cabin.
imwould suggest to contact by mail the Jeanneau customer se4vice and ask them (French or English) which is the best solution for your boar (send the right model and hull number)

Thank you for the response. The Jeanneau website refers you to your local dealer. Do you have an email for the factory customer service? Thanks. Lee Hadjiosif

Lee,
Where are you and your boat based. If in the USA I would talk to West Marine their charges seem very reasonable to me compared to here in Europe. A unit costing around $3,500 with them will be about €5,000 here.
Good luck.

I would be interested in the Genset installation pictures including location, thru-hall locations and routing, pic of the panel showing the switchover switch. Will try to do it myself after someone else puts it in place...with a crane I guess!! Thanks. LeeH

I also have a 42DS 2007. I have two AC units, a Webasto FCF 1200 GS under the port side dinette bench. And another unit for the aft cabin under the propane tanks.
