Hi Ania, what sort of issues? I have some movement of the wood inside but thats fixable, some oil leak but should be easy to deal with but the one I am more concerned about is the transom, its a little "fragile" i think maybe needs some bolstering?
We took the boat for about 1500 miles coastal over the past month and it went really well with breeze forward of the beam but seems sluggish aft of the beam so needs more sail, did you get the code 0 or gennaker?
Well, to start Major one, FlexoFold prop creates severe vibration between 1900 and 2400 rpm, we had to temporarily replace it with fixed pitch one, and dealer had to ship our prop back to manufacturer. While we paid for fresh water flush heads, turned out it had raw water intake, so plumbing had to be redone; Autopilot oversteers when new heading is selected, so, say we are sailing 200 degrees, and right turn to 240 is selected, boat would go to 280, than to 220, than to 260, and than settles at 240, pretty much same thing happens with "navigating to" autopilot function, that hasn't been addressed yet. Huge chunk of paint fell off the keel, had to be resended and repainted. Yes, transom feels flimsy under the ladder not sure how to address that. Little things like USB ports and some power outlets didn't work, some interior issues... Its out of the water in NJ right now, we will see how it goes in spring.
And yes shopping around for Code zero, got one quote from the Doyle Sails: CZ 60 White Constructed with Full Radial Panel Layout Area: 1136.76 Square Feet Price: $ 8252 Features: • Furler • Spinnaker Duffle Bag.
Hi Ania, wow you have had some issues. We haven't been under the boat yet but hope we don't have the same problem with the keel. Haven't had the same number of issues at this stage, have just been minor things like an oil leak and a cabin door moved a bit so needed adjustment to refit. Otherwise all good at this stage. We got ours in September how old is your boat? I will get some photos up on the site.
Wow, thats not a good look. Makes our issues very small.
I hope the dealer looks after you, it looks like they are?
I need to post some photos as well and will work out how when i get some time. Our current issue is where the ladder touches the transom when deployed, there is a crack there already and it needs some kind of protection, have you had that problem? I think our hull number is 25 but I will check.
We have had a great summer in it to date doing over 1,000 miles in different trips and while the boat needs additional sails it has generally performed well, certainly comfortable.
They do look after us, flex o fold prop just came from manufacturer, so we will be testing it in March. I know what you are talking about about transom being super flimsy, will ask dealer how to deal with it. It bends every time you step on the ladder and definitely must be addressed especially if you climb on board with diving gear. Interesting how they are going to fix it. We also just ordered Code Zero 166 square meters, with Harken Reflex Unit 2 furler, that should be here in march as well. Other than that boat sails amazingly well and solid, we enjoyed it.
We are also have Yanmar 110HP, and installed Yanmar harness ECI-100, now we can see Engine Oil P, Fuel Flow, Oil Temp, and other engine data right on the Raymarine chart plotter engine page, great addition.
