I own a Sun Fast 35 with a Sparcraft Mast and Boom. About a month ago, my main halyard jammed between the Main sheave and the topping lift sheave....no worries, cleared it, but after replacing the toasted main sheave, it happened again, in 15+ knots of wind. No worries, got the jam out again, but this time the "aluminum separator" between the main sheave and the topping lift sheave was bent. Today I had a stainless steel separator fabricated and installed by my local rigger.
I have never had a main halyard jump off a sheave and jam before on any boat. Has anyone else had this problem?
