We're taking delivery of a 2001 SO34 within the next week. I cannot find any description of the "lazy bag" mainsail capture system in the Jeanneau manual, on the Evenstrom web site, etc. Is there anything published/available on this, or are we "on our own" to ascertain its characteristics and use (which I expect we can do, but would rather avoid the worst of the inevitable early misbehaviors).

The system is good in concept, but the material used is not that strong and I will need to replace ours next year after 7 seasons. I have changed the lazy-jacks so they now run through a block on the upper cross-tree , this allows more adjustment.
In my experience you need to try different tensions and experiment. The batten ends can get caught when pulling up the main - and you need the sail to be head to wind , but overall better than not having a stack system.
