Hi all We just received a 42DS which seems to be a real speeding boat. We've got the classic mast with the selden ball cars and a full batten main sail. We would like to buy a fore sail for winds over 25kt, maybe does any one have experience about size, sail cloth or any thing? We thought to put it on an endless furler has we usually sail short ended. What do you think about it? Clément SO42DS #200

I have a "Blade Jib" , 330 sq.ft,upgraded to 11oz cloth and triple stitched which I hoist on the furling forestay when going for a prolonged beat in force 5 and above. I drop the standard genoa into a long deck bag secured to the side rails. The "Blade jib" can be furled keeping good shape and 3 rolls keeps me in control up to 35 knot. For gale force winds I have an inner forestay which attaches using a Wichard tensioner,to a folding bar secured through the bow plate. The storm jib is in day glow (80 sqft), and has its sheets already rove to it. I also have a Momentum IMS spinnaker size 9 for the downhill sailing!. Hope this is of assistance.
