Can anyone comment on or explain the Jeanneau fix for a loose Goiot steering wheel which I understand involves fitting a stainless steel bolt through the aluminum block and wheel shaft. sounds quite a job. Jeanneau thoughtfully supply the bolt and leave the rest to you I understand.
Has anyone any experience to contribute? I need to do something but don't really fancy this.

Andrew, Have you fixed this yet? I had to do mine last winter, it just kept coming loose. The winter before I made a shaft extension for the drill and drilled and tapped for an allen screw to hold the shaft but even that was not good enough. Finally I bought the new axel and bearings from the Gioit importer and fitted it. The new shaft has a hole for a S/S pin but I could figure out what kind of S/S pin so I fitted a S/S bolt. All is really good now and it didn't take long to do. You do need to loossen the cables though. Still that gives you a good chance to grease those squeaky pullies.
