Rather than carrying drinking water using containers or fitting a separate tap, I have fitted a Brita Torlan tap to Jeannie a Jeaneau SO 379. The Brita tap appears to be manufactured by the same company that made the original tap and the hose fittings connected perfectly. It has the hot and cold controls as the original plus a separate drinking water tap. Only this water is filtered. I use Aquasafe tablets to keep the water safe and the Brita filter to take away any undesired tastes, smells and limescale. No modifications are required to the sink surround and the filter fits easily beneath the sink. They're £279 from screwfix complete with filter and spare filters are £45. Great tasting water.

I've been trying for some time to see how to get filtered water on my 379 as the swabbies are not happy with the taste of tank water. I've not found a filter that easily fits under the sink space, how well does the brita filter fit under the sink - does it significantly reduce the bin space or storage under the sink and are any special fittings needed to achieve this.

Nice idea! Unfortunately, it's not directly available in North America. Don't know about down under. I couldn't find the cartridges either. Otherwise I would give this installation a serious look.

I installed a Jabsco Aqua Filta on Anwen last season for the same reasons and so far it has worked well. It is a snug fit in the corner of the locker behind the waste bin, connected to the cold water supply.

I installed a Seagull water filter by General Ecology that has worked well and was easy to install. The spigot fits between sink and splash board and the stainless filter and cartridge assembly is beneath the setee inext to hot water tank where it taps into the cold water line which goes into galley sink. The carbon filter is easy to access and to change once per year, but cartridge Costa about $85 US.

Slightly related - so apologies if I should have created a new thread.
I have owned my boat for 3 years now (ex-charter) and was wondering if there is anyway to actually test the quality of the water.
If I put a Britta (or similar) inline - is it safe to drink or should i check something else first? Is taste the only real method - done some searching but cannot work it out.
Many thanks.
