Hello saltymetals, Firstly, welcome to the forum. If you search with keywords like "arch" you will see many posts relating to this topic either directly or in relation to mounting various things to the arch. Either way you can find some good design tips. Also, although this is not for an SO43DS it does have some great ideas. www.jeanneau-owners.com/hintsandtips/sternarchsunkiss.htmlRegards, Trevor

Hi Andrew, I am not a big lover of transom arches. Probably because my last boat, a Hunter Legend, had one the size of a Wembley goal post. However, when it came to fitting solar panels needs must! We had a very simple SS arch made for our 43 DS comprising of an A frame arrangement either side with a single tube across to hold the panels. The A frames are clamped onto the SS guard rails rather than welded and can be taken off very quickly if needs be. There is a centre support which was not fitted at the time of the photo. The big advantage using a single tube is that the panels can be angled towards the sun, but obviously such a light weight structure cannot take the weight of a tender if that is your plan. The total cost was €360 plus the cost of the solar panel brackets. Sorry this is the only picture I have at the moment.
