The main ARC fleet has left the Canaries and the ARC+ fleet have been on their 2nd leg from Cape Verde for several days. In the ARC there are two SF3600's in the racing division and many other Jeanneaus ARC Entry ListYB Tracking The weather for the next 14 days I have a very keen interest in following it as I have received permission from my new Admiral to enter Jessabbe for 2016 I still need to be 100% certain I want to move Jessabbe to Aussieland which I'll work out over Xmas whilst there. Not sure yet if it will be ARC or ARC+ for us. If I enter ARC+ I already have a beer bet with an occasional poster "carstenb" who has entered his SF40.3

Hoppy,
If you had posted this on one of the other sailing forums you would have been inundated by hundreds of "Jeanneaus' aren't blue water boats" type replies.
Alas, I suspect many would come from armchair sailors who have probably never set foot on a Jeanneau.
I sail tested our 43 DS in a force 7 out of Brighton and was most impressed with her manners. When we got caught out in a prolonged Force 8 by accident she didn't let us down either.
I have no doubt that a long keel displacement yacht will ride the Atlantic swells better but how many of those boat crews do you see sweating away trying to berth the thing once they have got where they are going. I have met many who are very reluctant to put back to sea for just a day sail because the effort of parking is all a bit much.
Good luck with your plans.
