I need to do a bit of varnishing inside the saloon - nav station and table - I did the floor with Captains varnish and was really impressed with the results. But I can not get Captains here - what I can get is Epifanes or Interlux Schooner Gold and one or two other varieties =
Anyone use either of these for internal varnishing?
thanks

Use Epifanes outside on toe rail with OK results but like Captain's better. Use Interlux satin inside with very good results

I've done my floorboards 3 or 4 years ago , with a good satin parquet varnish ( two components) , waterbased btw , 5 coats and not even a scratch up to now . I dare say it's at least as good as any other boat brand varnish but a hell of alot cheaper. But if you love the Captains varnish that much , couldn't you have it sent to you ?
Regards

Chuck, we've recently redone the whole boat interior with Epifanes (as well as putting in new veneers as well).
The Varnish guy has done an incredible job (if anyone is wanting to get some work done here in Marmaris, I can happily pass on his contact details). It's all Satin Finish and has transformed the interior. Can highly recommend it.
We're just in the middle of replacing all the Plexiglass today, leaving just the upholstery to do and then we will have a like new 15 year old boat. With winter just around the corner, we figured we'd better be happy to be inside.
Cheers, PT

We had to rebed ours in Horta after the crossing.

I think I'm right in saying that all recent Jeanneaus use a satin finish for the interior. I've certainly had good results for touching up dings on mine with International Goldspar Satin, which matches perfectly the colour on my boat.

[/quote] Hi Chuck, What do you mean by DS for the Plexiglass? I can email the chap who put it all in (he did a fantastic job BTW). The Epifanes tin looks like this; www.dropbox.com/s/64btaio9nzjrm1o/20150625_141935.jpg?dl=0(Couldn't work out how to insert the dropbox pic here) Cheers, PT

Thanks to all for their thoughts -- I started with the inside of a door just to see what it looked like and wow we could not tell the varnished side from the original -- then the outside of the head door and again we can not tell the difference in color - matches Jeanneau's exactly
we are using International Goldspar Satin - great results
